Impact Martial Arts Academy stands on a foundation of over 25 years of dedicated Karate practice and teaching under Shafi Sensei. What began as a personal journey of discipline and mastery has grown into a mission to pass that same strength, focus, and respect on to the next generation. Every technique taught here carries the weight of decades of experience — refined not just through years on the mat, but through years spent understanding how martial arts shapes character, confidence, and resilience.
Under Shafi Sensei’s guidance, students don’t just learn Karate — they inherit a philosophy. Training at Impact goes beyond punches and kicks; it’s about instilling patience in the impatient, calm in the anxious, and confidence in those who’ve never believed in their own strength. This depth of experience means every class is structured with purpose, every correction comes from decades of understanding what truly works, and every student — from the youngest beginner to the most advanced black belt — receives training rooted in genuine mastery.

THE JOURNEY BEHIND IMPACT'S FOUNDER
Impact Martial Arts Academy stands on a foundation laid more than thirty years ago, forged not in a single dojo but across a lifetime of dedicated training. The journey began in 1989, when the founder took his first steps onto the mat in Chemmad under the guidance of Mohanan Master. In the same year, that early discipline deepened into a true martial calling at the ISSKA Chedippady Dojo, where he trained under Grand Master Farooq Sensei. It was here that his foundation broadened significantly, mastering the striking precision of Karate, the weapons discipline of Kobudo, and the throws and control of Judo, all under the watchful eye of Sensei Shoaihb Master. Alongside this, he immersed himself in Kalaripayattu, India’s own ancient martial art, studying under Chedippady Majeedh Kurikal, a rare and valuable addition that grounded his practice in both global and indigenous fighting traditions.
His pursuit of mastery carried him further, to the ISSKA Parappanangadi Dojo, where he trained under Sensei Iqbal Master. Here his growth reached a turning point: recognized for his skill and discipline, he was entrusted to step off the student mat and onto the instructor’s floor, teaching others at the very dojo where he continued to learn. This period of dual growth, as both student and teacher, culminated in one of the proudest milestones of his journey, earning his Sho-dan and Ni-dan Black Belts under the guidance of Fairoz Sensei and Farooq Sensei. Each rank was not just an award, but a testament to years of relentless training, humility, and an unbroken commitment to the art.

His most defining chapter unfolded under FSKAI Grand Master Alavi Sensei, where he served for years as Main Instructor, a role that demanded not just technical mastery but the ability to shape and guide an entire generation of fighters. Under this mentorship, he rose through the ranks to earn his 3rd and 4th Dan Black Belts, a rare achievement reflecting decades of unwavering commitment to the art. During this period, he coached more than a hundred students, each one benefiting from the depth of knowledge he had gathered across every dojo, every master, and every discipline he had trained in since 1989. His dedication to their growth did not go unnoticed, and he was honored with the Best Teacher award, a recognition of not just his technical ability, but his gift for mentorship and his genuine investment in the success of every student under his guidance. The pinnacle of his journey came with his 5th Dan Black Belt, secured from Traditional Karate-Do Okinawa Kobudo Indo Kyokai under Grandmaster Hanshi Masanabu Sato, a 9th Dan Black Belt and Honorary President in Okinawa, Japan, with Kyoshi Ayan Chakraborty overseeing.
That lifetime of discipline, learning, and mentorship, spanning Karate, Kobudo, Judo, and Kalaripayattu, and shaped by masters like Mohanan Master, Farooq Sensei, Shoaihb Master, Iqbal Master, Fairoz Sensei, Grand Master Alavi Sensei, and Hanshi Masanabu Sato, is what ultimately gave rise to Impact Martial Arts Academy. It is not simply a martial arts school, but the living continuation of a journey that began over three decades ago on a single training mat. Today, that same foundation of respect, discipline, and relentless dedication is passed on to every student who walks through its doors, ensuring that the values instilled by a lifetime of masters continue to shape the next generation of practitioners.
